Is it possible to suspend a command with Ctrl+Z in a layout with pane command?

I just installed https://github.com/vdbulcke/zellij-workspace from #3203. Looks like the problem with "use provided layout in-place" is solved. vdbulcke/zellij-workspace#1

But the second problem is that I heavily use Ctrl+Z in my workflow, and I wasn't able to find any option that can allow me to suspend a command after it has been automatically executed.

I want to use layout in-place, automatically focus on pane edit="./src/main.rs", and then hit Ctrl+Z to go "back" to shell.

I currently understand that I have to create a regular pane and then execute my command manually, so that there is a shell I can go back from the suspended command.
