Note that this occurs on light themes only, due to the boxes' background being partially transparent. I'll see about decreasing the transparency factor.

Maybe a black border around the emotes might be a good idea too? that way they're at least still somewhat visible on light theme

I'm honestly still puzzled about using emojis in this situation. They are a mess for accessibility, they don't play well with different themes and we need to pick a really good and visible emoji font.

or we use different emotes that work better, like the checkmark and X or the no symbol in the case of the screenie
