I believe that if they are a great, self-contained and representative, resource. Then why not? Obviously, you don't want to flood your list with every available ML course, but I'm sure that there are a few select courses that would be great to add in.

that makes sense. how should they be organized? should they have their own subsection, analogous to "General", or should they be entries within the various years?

That's a good question. I think that that as it stands now, since the only reference to youtube is in the General section, that it could be helpful to have a few items of "supplementary" youtube videos as a subsection of the the de Freitas and Smola lecture videos.

Everyone has their pet lecturer and way of learning. Some courses focus on different aspects of the field. You may not want to organize by emphasis (I think the yearly distribution is helpful, especially in view of the conference proceedings) and that may take a lot of effort to accurately represent.

sure. i guess the next step then is to take a collection of courses/lectures and start piling them into this list.

I think its great that you only have conferences, talks. Add lectures and courses, it might get too big, which isnt bad or anything, but I love it the way it is. Can you create another repo for courses and maybe link it in this repo's readme? Why I'm saying this is, there are already lot of repos which contain everything and my thoughts are those are just too long and not unique.
